When I first read what we had to do for the second assignment, I put my thinking cap on to come up with an ‘awesome’ idea, but nothing came to me.
I knew I wanted it to be meaningful and involve people and human emotion (vague i know), but I couldn’t think of how.
I then looked back at my case study from our first assessment, where I explored the interactive online documentary that explored the social, economic and culture implications of the international sporting that is the FIFA World Cup. The online doc. followed personal stories of 36 individuals, across three world cup hosting cities including Lepzig, Johannesburg and Rio de Janerio who lived and worked in the immediate vicinity of the stadiums .
Looking back on this and an aray of other sporting themed online documentaries this helped me form the basis of my idea:
To examine and explore how sporting stars and athletes emotionally cope and deal with injury.
